I made a new character to fill a role I've needed, at long last. This is the first solid drawing I've got of him, but his design will probably change a bit. I want a more feral-looking character for the role of "creepy pain instigator and possibly serial killer". The role may seem similar to Ms. Spixy, but to me they are quite different. Future art may be more revealing of this than an explanation.
This is Collin Last-Name-Pending, and he is pretty much Dexter, from the TV show, if you removed all the parts that make Dexter likable and able to function in society. He is damaged and cold, and does not pretend to have feelings. The small back story I have for him so far is that his capacity to feel emotions is not working (because of reasons), and so he uses others to feel. The strongest and easiest to elicit emotions are pain, terror, rage, and despair, so he induces those in his victims and basks in it, trying to soak it up like a sponge. When it doesn't work well, or inevitably dissipates, he is left with a cold disappointment.
His species is a ring-tailed mongoose, which is so perfect and I love it. It's like a weird weasel red panda and it's just so pretty and great. I decided on a mongoose specifically because they are small and mammalian, yet they take down snakes. It sounded cool in my head.
He looks great! Also, sometimes I really feel cheated that grew up a geek that could fairly easily defend himself against the pretend bullies of my high school

That is not something to feel cheated about. The emotional damage that bullying leaves with you after the physical damage has healed is substantial, and stays for years. It is not something to envy.
