here's is one of my favorite pages from this particular comic, and there are a few reasons that I like this part. first off, it does the one thing many of the Mario Games would consider "un-Nintendo" and that's showing the Mario Bros. getting their asses whooped... and that's not something you see everyday; the second thing is that you see the bad doctor with some of that old-school "Bad Guy Swag". and BGS is something that has been lost in most cases. Pokémon manages to keep it, but the textbook BGS is becoming a lost art nowadays.
lastly, this page does the one thing that many antagonists just don't do anymore.... talk shit. when was the last videogame where Dr. Eggman talked a whole lot of shit? I wanna say that one with the Deadly Six, but I could be wrong. if you know, tell me. what hurts here is that Peach is denying the confirmed truth that her man and his brother got their hats handed to him. that's vintage, folks... back in the days where the good guys didn't always beat the bad guys.
About that last panel, it's not that I'm against swearing, but that last remark seemed a bit out of character for Dr. E. I just don't see him going that far in his shit-talking.
