About this song:

This song is played in the dungeon east of the main village, and it is quite a fair distance away. As well, this will be the first time you will encounter a night zone. A night zone is an area on the world map that you turn into your animal state on. You will remain in that state until you enter a day zone.

While in animal form, you deal and recieve double damage, and you can use switches and get through areas that you can't in human form. The opposite is true for human form. Also while in animal form, there are certain items, such as your Stone Gloves, that you cannot use.

For most of the dungeon, you are trapped in animal form, until you get to the halway point of the dungeon and pick up this dungeon's item, the Celestial Armlet.
This allows you to change the current area to night/day. This forces the opposite area to change as well, to the opposite of what it was.
This allows you to transform between human form and animal form at will. It however does cost magic power, which you get at this point in the game.

You must use it to change the boss into whatever form it doesn't fit the room with. If the room turns blue and has the sun sign on the floor, you need to change to night using the Celestial Armlet. If the room turns red and has the moon sign on the floor, you need to change to day using the Celestial Armlet. The Boss is invincible if he is in the same state as the room.

As to the song itself, both halves of this song, came from an early zelda game. I thought the disonance within the two original songs fit well to the theme, and each other, so that's where this one came. Many of the puzzles here are similar to Link's Awakening, specifically the puzzles of the two dungeons that this song is made from. It's only fitting that it be made like this.
