Hello! So much time x3 Sorry that i had little time to reply at your arts, but i will do it soon.
I wanted thank you because (you probably forgot) i've read the Bambi and currently reading Bambi's Children x3

There should be more arts related to the character never seen in the cartoon, and i was honestly amazed about how darker and yet poetic and powerful the story is...

Emmmm.... I don´t remember you but I remember I recomended read the book. =P

Yes, that is the point I talk about with many people, why, why, why Disney? it should be amazing see all the characters in cartoon and the dark story, should be epic. D:

Haha it was loooong ago xD i had other stuff to read.
Btw i really thank you.
Actually i THINK to have found even a second dowloadble edition of translation.
In one appears that Aunt Ena was "changed" into being cousin and not sister of Bambi's mother (an attempt of censorship i think).
However i've to say also that's not 100% clear to me if the Old Prince was ACTUALLY the true biological father of Bambi.
I mean... yeah, he say "My son..." at some point, but it could even be a some-kind of term of habit.

Plus it's clear also (i think) how both the books had a different origin.
The first Bambi appears really like a metaphorical novel about the jewish persecution (with some auto-biography elements maybe?)
The second novel seems more like a normal novel: for example it appears in the first book that the twins Bambi meet at the end could have been NOT his children (because Faline was said to be old).

If i'm right it passed 10 years from writing the first and the second book. So maybe he decided to keep on what was a metaphorical novel, into a more animal-realistic novel.

Intereting the point of Ena, but I think is correct, because Faline and Gobo are coinsins of Bambi, so basically Bambi had incest with Faline.

I feel the old prince is his father because he cared Bambi after he received the shot, however, I am not sure in all because if you remember when Bambi meets Faline and Gobo the writer make a description of their parents and is not the same as the old prince... maybe the writer played with us.

Yes, he wrote in different times the books, almost ten years, and I am sure he´s way of write changed, and maaaaaaybe his actions with Disney affected him a little because is less "evil" on the second book, the first I think is a viewpoint about the Great War, I don´t think is a veiw of the pursuit of the jewish.

I feel the term of old is because she was more older, but not exactly an old deer, consider on the book passed around... 2 years I think, so are old but not for make children. Now, consider bambi fought with Ronno, it was during mating season, because Ronno and Karus invaded the territories of Bambi, so maybe during this time Bambi did something with Faline, after it Bambi retired to live alone and more after the shot.

However, for me the biggest mistery is the end of the hunter... so deep.

Back again. Well yeah... considering that at that time in some time-place marriage between cousins wasn't a big issue.
It's possible, about the father, or it's even possibly left open to the reader's mind.

I agree with the point over the age at the end of the book.

However i think the metaphor of the jewish persecution has lots of hints.
And i've read about it already on some other analys.

It's a good thing i think, even if create the problem that we could see the book as a "double" story: (the metaphor and the real one). Especially the death of the hunter at the end... to marks that in time of despair, when the "He" had the power of kill everyone, when all the animals reacted in different way (hiding, saying that nothing will change, saying that maybe the He will not be so terrible etc...), and after Bambi went in "exile" living as a loner (all this match pretty well the life of the authro), ultimately the He will fall, killed by another He, and realizing there is someone else above all.
Pretty much prophetic of what was going to happens some years later...
(especially the part with all the animals having different opinions on how behave toward the He... )

However it's also clear to me how "Bambi's Children" it's more a "full" deer story, with the author working well on giving more space, more story, more events, more character development etc...
I've yet to finish it, but i love it honestly... x3

I am not in all sure about the jewish, the book has been written in 1923, and Hitler started to make problems on the 30´s, however, the point I am not sure is when has been created the nazi party, it was before Hitler, and I am not sure if the party started to get racist on the begining or after Hitler taked the command of it. Should be important investigate about it.

About He, yes I consider another killed him, but why? we will never knows, however, there is the religious view, He is not a god, is "another" is under him and those things. Pretty interesting the viewpoint of the writter.

I liked the second book, and is more for children, also, when you finish to read it, take a look a problem I have: Nembo and Nello, those twins I liked, I hope one day draw them... but are 2 males? I don´t remember it and I lost my copies in spanish.  D:

True true, however we have to remember that anti-jewish feelings had big roots and widespread previous peaks.
Just checking on wiki, the book was later banned by Nazis because belived  a "political allegory on the treatment of Jews in Europe",

Yeah, exactly. However i've to say that the author point of view is intriguing.
It reflects some behavior and feelings of the time (the role of Faline as woman is limited, she's ever scared, she's the one that have to think at the children, the father is a distant figure etc....)

However the second book show more intriguing elements: first of all the character of Gurri, she show an interesting and more corageous/decisive behavior, both as dealing with her capture, both generally speaking.
And it's interesting how the parents behave:Faline is (clearly) critical to see a girl that behave in a different way and put in question some traditional beliefs.
Instead Bambi appears to be more understanding: he say that the innovative behavior of Gurri can be positive, but she have to mix it with caution and moderation.

Another cool point it's later where it's Gurri that (on the contrary) show some "conservative" behavior, when talking with a squirrel. It's an interesting little metaphor-like dialogue over communist life-of-style, with Gurri labeling the squirrel eating the reserve of someone else as a thief, and the squirrel explaining that all the squirrels make this, gathering nuts and eating the reserves from the others, because "there is no property": and even if there is a single lazy squirrel, it's better that all provide for him, rather than every squirrel for himself, with risk of fighting. The dialogue ends with a "truce", with Gurri accepting the good points of the squirrel but unsure about the general system, and saying she will think about a reply.

I'm curious at this point to read the book of Perri the squirrel, because she appears in the Bambi's Children book and i've read that Bambi himself appear in Perri's book: basically they are all set in the same place-time.

The english translation give as names "Nello" and "Membo", not "Nembo",
Both of them are males however (with Membo being the most scared-shy, but very very fast, even faster than Geno) , and they're said to consider Geno as a big brother and both follow him.

"Political allegory on the treatment of Jews in Europe"

Yes I read a time ago about it, but I think it was the "excuse" for justify the burning of his book, the main detail is he was a jew, that´s all, because... how can make a book has been written 10 years before the jewish pursuit a reaction on the nazi germany? I find a little forced this point because, well I need know if the nazi party on the 20´s started with the racist ideas of the superman or was with Hitler (on 30´s), because think in this thing of political allegories is put Felix Salten as a prophet in case the nazi party not started with it until Hitler taked the command of all Germany. :/

Yes, I´m agree with you about Gurri, curiously the first half of the second book is about Gurri, the other part is about Geno, I think Gurri is the other face of Faline. Originally Faline is a girl who like to play, but suddenly she changed, and I think the reason of those changes was Gobo, most of the things are around him, since the view of she about the changes, until how she lives trying to evade all of the past, but when happen the things with Gurri and her situation with the fox and the humans, again Faline remember it, however she is always in conflict to forget the past, but something is always remember her the things should never happen again. With Gurri happen many things, more complex and I think are a complement of the life of her mother, because she is living all the things her mother evaded: human contact, talk with other animals, conflicts with relatives, fights, etc.

I never read the Perri´s book, I haven´t the lucky of find it in spanish, some friends say me this book is conected with Bambi´s story, and exist another, I don´t remember the name of the book, but is about a story of 15 hares, this book conect the other two: Bambi and Perri but I cannot find it.

Funny see a "M" was changed by an "N", same happen with some editions the name of Ronno appears "Rono" or "Roño", but that is a problem of the traslator. Anyway, I feel Nello and Nembo-Membo are... well is my theory. =P I feel those deers are boys of Gobo and Marena, the book not say nothing about it, but since Marena loved Gobo, and then she dissappeared after Gobo died... 1 year passed aprox and suddenly Faline found 2 twins more older than Bambi´s children... and she accepted the company of those two guys consider looks "familiar"... well is my theory, maybe is it, maybe not.

Understood but persecutions against Jews was active ling before Hitler (as for the Russian "pogroms")
However i think also that he doesn't necessarily wrote the book with the intent to make al allegory, but it  came out by instinct to put elements of the classical behavior of Jews under persecution (who believe that all will return normal, who believe you can trust the persecutor, who doesn't care of the others, who search refuge in exile).
And well... yes, i think he was pretty much prophetic reguarding this term: especially about his own exile and his survival to see the end of the war. We could even dare to say that he expected all this to happens, some few cultured jews realized it in time and saved their lives: we could even wonder if Salton NEVER wrote Bambi book and never realized some historical thinsg of Jews persecution, he could have chosen instead to remain... with tragic end.

Gurri generally speaking seems to represent a modern generation that in that years (in human society) found very hard to find a way to express and show itself: i think it's cool that Salton decided that a character like Gurri could do it, making mistakes maybe, but surviving them and eventually Bambi realizing that Gurri's innovations and beliefs (that clash agains the traditionalist role of the woman) were correct, even if needed to be softened.
I think this is a great expression of Salton being a more modern writer, compared with others of his time.

Yes, searching a bit around, i've read hints too that both of these novels include Bambi and deers as minor characters (probably in the way Perri is a minor character in Bambi's Children), i would very like to find them, because this means basically that there are actually 4 books in the same "place-timeline-story".

At this point i would like to search a German-text file.
Just to search and translated the few words of differences and the names.

I think it's a very good and interesting theory.
There is little chance, but maybe the other books (Perri and the hares) mentions some other deer characters.
Btw i've also re-watched Bambi-II yesterday.
i still like it, because i think they've made some kind of effort (considering the target) to adds more personality and development of characters.
I was wondering that as a possible Bambi-III story, we could see Ronno (and Karus as follower) attempting to take a revenge on Bambi: Gobo can be introduced as relative of Faline  and because of Ronno's plan, Gobo can be captured by He, and Bambi take the decision to save him in a way similar of the rescuing of Gurri in the second book.
Obviusly such kind of Disney-plot would end only with the rescuing of Gobo and happy-ending xD

A time ago I talked with a friend who worked on Disney, it was in 2009 or 10, he told me existed the rumors and the intentions of make Bambi 3, however, the plot should be before Bambi, when "Roe" (that should be the name of Bambi´s father) meet "Ena" ("Bambi´s mother", and is funny because not exist a name for she, either from the book, so the scripters decided Ena, Faline´s mother). The idea was in process for the movie and the release should be in 2012, but the proyect was forgot because Disney not worked anymore on traditional animation because decided is outdated and 3D is more faster for work and call the "atention the children", so dimissed most of the traditional artists and well the story is over. However exist ex-workers of Disney are working in indie way for make movies, the best example is:

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/hullabaloo-steampunk...

I don´t think Disney will focus in a third movie, all the second parts and third parts never worked so well on the public.

Oh gosh.... don't let me think about it <.<
Apart the decision to switch on 3D almost for all the main animated movies aired on cinema, it's true how they stopped to make all he old movies' sequels, etc...
I can say that i didn't got crazy for most of them, but seriously... now it appears they just make countless of Tinker Bell's movies, to fill the gap left for the direct-to-sale movie...

I'm above being disappointed for what they did.

Btw there is also a good thing we can do: digging more in the past in search of rare pearls.
I remember some time ago i had found and watched a short animated cartoon, made in soviet union years ago, with a young reindeer as protagonist, it was very nice and Bambi-like (not too much anthropomorfic animals)
But can't remember the name...

Ah yes! I know which one is, "the brave little deer", yes I knew it a time ago, maybe 1 or 2 years ago, is a beautiful animation. Someone suggested me get anthro the character but I forgot it. (°___°)ll
