Bought the game recently, and I'm really happy they finally made a survival horror game

based on the Alien series, instead of just an action shoot game :3

For a first try it's really good, not perfect but quite exciting, hope they'll make a sequel =3

I have to admit the detail they put in the game overall makes you feel like your watching a live action movie.. was watching playthroughs on youtube

I am also glad they have done a survival horror with it. I personally really liked the 2006 AvP game by rebellion. i really liked all three campaigns and the xenos still scare the crap outta me on the marine campaign.

Hmmm.  On that note, wouldn't you say Doom(both the original AND Doom 3) would have some survival horror elements?  It made me feel claustrophobic.  Especially in the original.  With the music on or off, you could hear the snarls and growls of the imps and zombies.  And when you hear the pink-skinned demons growl out from a distance, you try to avoid them, but they sound like their getting closer.  Then, when you least expect it, you hear them attacking you.  In Doom 3, you hear the zombies come out in the darkness, hurting you.  You stumble about trying to retreat and plan your next attack, but sometimes you wind up in more darkness from the disorientation.  It's amazing.

doom is 'the' first person shooter, seting alone does not make a survival horror game...alow me to put it in simplest terms, if you aquire anything resembling a BFG in a game, its not S.H. to be a survival horror game there has to be a feeling that every bullet could be your last, that each shot must count and that every corner should be treated as though theres an insermountable threat behind it...where as in doom, any deficit in skill can be overcome with a biger gun....well in the main game anyway, the extra levels on the other hand ive heard are a nightmare.
on that note and theres going to be people who crucify me for this...i dont consider deadspace 2 or 3 to be survival horror, deadspace one...oh hell yes, but 2 and 3...nope.

I heard it was a great game with just a few things counting against it (Little too long, too much trial and error basically) but I'll have to check it out soon myself. I doubt it could ever be any worse than Colonial Marines regardless.

This is a sadly HIGHLY underrated game. Sure it's flawed, but every game is. People just tend to overlook the glaring flaws in the popular mainstream games. I feel the only place it really failed was the presentation of the story, which fell a bit flat. That being said, they captured the series' atmosphere perfectly and I'm not sure if a game has ever made me feel more hunted.

Not bad arts here too of course. I like the lighting.
