Coming into the fray, we now have the man-eating plant. Of course, characters like the Piranha Plant and Audrey II have made this idea more comical I have to say that this is one of the few additions to this list that can really creep me out. Why? Because stuff like this actually exists! Maybe not so overblown, but you get what I mean. I think it's just a cruel reminder of how terrifying Mother Nature really is. Just something totally driven by the instinct to eat and feels nothing as it does so... on people! It's really disturbing! Little Shop of Horrors may have added a personality to this arch type, and don't get me wrong I love that, but I think a less sentient version is much more intimidating... but that's me!
This was actually on of the hardest things I had to draw this time around. Mainly because I had to try so hard to NOT make it just Audrey II, but can you blame me? When a character more or less single handedly MAKES an arch type, it's nearly impossible to avoid making one that isn't a carbon copy. However, I really like how I made mine. Combining looks of my favorite plants, such as the Rafflesia and the Pitcher Plant, I think it stands as it's own while paying obvious homage.
The flora of Purgatory is pretty easily summed up. Virtually any plant is carnivorous (and/or just wilted) some are sentient, but most aren't. It's not uncommon for people to lose their hands when picking flowers... or worse.
