A little something I drew in response to this: http://www.cinemablend.com/television/Death-Saturday-M... It's hard to believe that a tradition from my childhood is completely gone. There's far too many cartoon shows to name that I can remember, but they all live on in memory.
I have several cassettes of Alvin & the Chipmunks which I played when the show changed direction and had the new title "Chipmunks go to the movies". Since that last season scrapped the carefully built up biography of previous seasons , I stopped watching after 2 episodes. I never watched the show again. I was NOT surprized when it was the LAST season. I was NOT surprized when the next year, NBC dropped saturday morning cartoons =period ! I have some news clippings on that change.
I also have a cassette of CHIPMUNK ADVENTURE.
Somebody also mentioned "moral lessons replaced slapstick cartoon comedy" on InkBunny, as why he walked away from the new cartoons.
I had been watching Cyberchase, but they went erratic...
