I recall in an obscure 40's Spunky strip (Frisky Fables) Spunky the kangaroo is mistaken for a prince (it's a long story, and he SHOULD have wound up in Juvie Hall) and is kidnapped and tied up in a cave by kidnappers.
But he uses his tail to get frree of the ropes, and goes off to another adventure.
The Spunky stories were badly written and relied solely on a very cute character, One story got him into such a mess that the only way the writer/artist could save him was to have the whole debacle turn out to be just - a dream...
