Hey so a while ago I wanted to make a gnoll char
and here he is

My D & D monster manual says nothing wholesome about gnolls. If my band nears a gnoll or more without warning, a fight is expected tho not welcome.

Gnolls are described in my D&D monster manual. They are listed as enemies. They are also first described in LordDunsany's fantasy short "How Gnuff would have practiced his art on the gnolls".
