The Rascal *For Sale*
Mega Meganium
Mega Relicanth design is based on an oar fish, which looks similar to old, boney fish. It's also a deep water fish.

This is for a contest.

Type(s): Water/Dragon
It loses it's Rock type as an oarfish does not have much on it that could be hard, except for maybe the face. The dragon type is much more fitting as these fish used to be thought to be sea serpents and monsters.
Ht. 30' 07" (Ht. is more like its length)
Wt. 257 lbs (Oarfish can grow to be extremely heavy.)
Ability: Weak Armor; Causes Defense to drop and Speed to raise when hit by a physical move. (It's only strong "armor" part is it's head)
Hidden Ability: Rock Head; Prevents recoil damage. (It keeps the hard head from it's original form.)
Stats:
HP: 100
Attack: 100
Defense: 160
Special Attack: 25
Special Defense: 60
Speed: 65

It's ability feeds off of it's high base defense so that it can take hits but get enough speed to possibly overpower an opponent.

Love it. Relicanth was always awesome, but swam under the radar. This would get him some well-deserved attention.

That's a reason I chose it! It was a tough tie between him and Dunsparce but I felt that Dunsparce was somewhat overdone and such. So I went with Relicanth. ^^

Thank you!

i always wanted dunsparce to evolve. i thought it would be cool as a normal/ghost

I'd have made it either Normal/Ground or Normal/Dragon (or possibly even flying) depending on how i drew it.

i'd avoid dragon. more ice beam bait. XD
i like the normal/ghost idea because it  would be unique.
Just like Dunsparse, and it would explain it's crazy elusiveness.

But your ideas make sence. personally i wanna see new type combos.
like bug/dragon... Flygon should be that. Or Ice/Steel and fire/grass.

I've made fakemon before with some interesting types. I know I made a starter once that was Fire/Water and was basically a big water heater.

I've made a fakemon that was water/fire myself that I was especialy proud of, even if I never shared it anywhere.

It was modeled as a pseudo-legendary, starting as a speedy little mono-water fish with flame fins (flame body ability but can't learn fire moves); evolving into a form that's covered in Magma Armor as the magma wasn't hot enough coming out the spouts in its body to flow freely, making it slower but tougher (not too unlike our friend Relicanth, maybe even using the water/rock typing instead of mono-water if changing types twice in a evo line wouldn't be too much); then becoming a magnificent water/fire Lava Fish pokemon that can now control it's flames and learn fire type moves, like Eruption upon first evolving, and with a unique Lava Flow ability that effects speed or defense depending on hot or cold weather effects.

I left the exact stats on my old computer (though I remember it was a special attacker, with mediocre defense and speed without its ability active), but I should have the art I did of it on note paper laying around somewhere.

one of the unreleased gen 6 legends is fire/water. i'd make a steam or steampunk kinda pokemon myself. it's abilty would likely increase the burn chance on moves, lightningrod, or swiftswim.

That is some truly impressive art and design there, no doubt. It really does look like what a natural progression (by Pokemon standards anyway) from Relicanth would be. Sleeker, yet also still tough and menacing.

Now, on the stats, sorry if this may be a bit nitpicky, and I'm not sure what the rules for the contest are/were, but if this Mega Evo is supposed to run on the same mechanics as the current ones so far, this one is far too week. The current Megas base stat totals are meant to add up to a net gain of +100. Also, I believe they all have just one Ability that is independent of rather the normal form had its hidden ability. >,> Or something like that... What can I say, I like to examine stats.

I should have noted I have no idea how to do those stats and they should be ignored if they're fucked up. haha

But thanks

If you even care to play with the stats more, I could lend you a hand.

Relicanth:
HP:         100
Attack: 90
Defense: 130
Sp.Atk: 45
Sp.Def: 65
Speed: 55
Total: 485

Your Mega Relicanth:
HP:         100
Attack: 100
Defense: 160
Sp.Atk: 25
Sp.Def: 60
Speed: 65
Total: 510

Given that, you essentially have 75 more points 'left to spend'. >,> Okay, I like the character creation and leveling up steps of games that let you do that a whole bunch, if you couldn't tell...

Also, that maybe I've been awake too much when I shoulda went to bed by now.
