I learned something today. I knew that baseball is popular over there, but did not even think about the colloquialisms.
The first few comments are fairly correct. The technique of extending the bat out without the force of a swing (or swinging it very gently), such that the ball's velocity is absorbed and the ball either "drops" or does not go very far, is called a bunt.
In the sketch, it is a bit tough to see if she is swinging the bat, or just holding it; also if it is before, or after, the hit.
Dumb joke: If Confucius was so distressed over a man with four balls walking in baseball, imagine how he would react if it was a little girl.
