A resketch of an older sketch (original uploaded for comparison). Nothing too special like Christmas or Thanksgiving. Just the usual familial relations really.
am curious to what was the cuase of this, Todd is just going balitic at them, Toni is trying to calm him down while Tori watches this side she realy sees

Each of the Dharken siblings reacts based on what sort of treatment they get from the family. Being the youngest, Toni is often doted upon and catered to so she always tries for peace in the family. As the middle child, Tori is often overlooked no matter how rebellious she gets so she rarely gets involved in the arguments but often feels that her parents have earned Todd's sharp, critical words. Todd's the oldest child and the only boy so he has a lot of expectations placed upon him about how he should behave and how much he should achieve. His often laid-back approach is frequently criticized in comparison to Tori's ambitious drive, genius level intelligence, and excessive academic success (pretty much the only thing she gets noticed for by her parents). Todd can take the criticism for the garbage he feels its worth but what gets him truly upset is when his parents, and his mother Amanda in particular, micro-manage his life when he's so close to being or actually an officially recognized adult after they didn't take much of an interest in guiding him in his younger formative years.
I hope that helps out your curiousity. I'm not sure what really caused this particular explosion of Todd's temper but it happens often enough that the specific reason doesn't matter.

You're welcome. There are some specific issues that keep these arguments going strong because they're never resolved but I don't know that it'd be necessary to go into them beyond the basics I've covered except to say they are there.

Yeah the reworked one looks a LOT better, the shading is much smoother now and I love Todd's look of outrage. I wonder what the hell they're arguing about, can't be their lifestyle certainly.
And what's the girl at the back smiling about, she's got that young look of "awwww yisss finally someone tellin' mom an' dad to shut the fuck up for once 83"

Thank you. I would hope the newer version is an improvement though that doesn't always happen. And Todd's parents don't have any room to criticize him. He'd probably be twice as livid if he knew even half of what his parents get up to. The children are a lot more like their parents than they realize.
For that explanation, you can check out my reply to Zero G which hopefully explains Tori's lack of direct involvement.

I think almost anyone not in the family would have the same reaction. Perhaps I ought to draw another family fight with someone visiting like Veronica so I can get that expression involved. Of course some characters might be just as inclined to join the fight depending on who they might be.

It really does depend on a lot of things. I would imagine first and foremost would be if the visitor had a vested interest in the argument, like for example, their friend being accused by family for something they didn't do. No matter what thought, family arguments are tricky. Most of the time, it's best to stay out of it.

heck of a discussion, but given the explanations of the above comments, it makes a lot of sense. All families have friction like this, and acting it out is a natural part of the relations; still wouldn't want to make any of them made if I could help it, tho. Probably do as flynn said and just stand there akwardly.

It's pretty difficult to interject yourself into the personal politics of a family, even if you know that family really well. It's almost like treading on ground sacred to this very little group of people.
