Diaper Wishes and Baby Powder Dreams Chapter 9

Raven woke up in the bunk of his truck as he got ready for another long day on the road.  It was almost 2am and he had a job to do.  It had been 3 weeks since he had been home for more than 48 hours and the time was starting to take its toll on him.  As he went down the road he couldn't think of anything but getting back home and resting.  His mind was finally so tired that he willed himself to come back home.  It had been almost a month since him and Lotus had last seen each other and it was a memory he wanted to forget.  The night had seemed so perfect.  Now he only had about a week left before he would have to move and take that job away from here.  His home was pretty much all packed.  The time he did have home he spared little time except to get everything boxed and in order.  Suffice to say, he was ready to go.  As the day woun down and he finally made it home for the long weekend he so deserved he noticed an envelope taped to his door.  He approached it and opened it.  "Raven, I am sorry for what happened that weekend." "I have thought about it and if you still have it in your heart to ask me, I will come with you.  I cannot bear the pain in my heart of losing you from my life." said the letter.  "Please call me when you get this, I have missed you so very much." "Yours forever, Lotus."

He couldn't believe it.  Raven just stared at the words on the letter in his hands. He was so immersed in it that he barely noticed that he was standing there for about 10 minutes before he felt his phone vibrate on his hip.  He looked down and saw the familiar number.  "Hello?" he said while answering. "I've missed talking to you too." "Well I just got in, how about you give me an hour?"  "I'll see you there!" "Love you Lotus!" he said as he hung up the phone.  Raven hurriedly unpacked his stuff and quickly started getting himself ready.  The exhaustion he had from the long miles on the road had vanished with one phone call.  Raven quickly got himself ready, getting on a nice suit and then looked over at the coffee table.  There was that small box.  He picked it up and opened it.  Inside was a diamond engagement ring.  He had bought it weeks before, even before he knew of the job offer.  He just didn't have the heart to return it.  "Lotus, I hope you really did change your mind, because I haven't changed mine in wanting to have you in my life." he said as he put the ring in his pocket and headed out the door.

It wasn't long before Raven had arrived at Lotus's home.  The first thing he noticed was the For Sale sign out in the front yard.  "She's must be serious in wanting to move in with me." he thought as he parked and headed towards the front door.  In his hands were a dozen roses, he bought them on the way over to her house, along with a bottle of wine for the night.  As the door open, all his planned lines vanished as there stood before him the most beautiful woman on earth.  Lotus was in the same black dress she had worn the night of their magical dinner date.  The fireworks from that night still played in his mind.  "you look absolutely stunning tonight my dear." he complimented her.  "As do you my handsome little foxy." "Are those for me?" she asked him while inquiring about the flowers.  "Why yes they are, but I'm afraid these are the best I could find." "They didn't have any flowers that looked as pretty as you do." Lotus blushed at the words that flowed like poetry from the fox's mouth.  "You always were a little charmer weren't you?" she replied back.  As Raven came inside he happened to notice that there were lots of boxes packed inside the house, all clearly marked for moving. Raven turned and was about to speak but before he could he was wrapped into the arms of the wolfess as she hugged and embraced him.  She wasn't even trying to hold back her emotions, as tears streamed down her cheeks. "I could not picture my life without yours in it Raven." she cried as she held him close.  Raven hugged and kissed her back, giving her a few gentle nuzzles to comfort her as well before he spoke. "I never want to let you go my love." he said as they broke the embrace.

"I guess you can tell that my answer is a yes to moving with you." Lotus said as she dried her tears with a tissue.  "I had a small hint." he said as he pointed to the stack of boxes next to him.  Lotus just giggled despite herself and the both of them retired to the dining room for dinner. It was just like the first time they had dinner together, both of them once again very happy to be in the other's company once more.  "Oh Raven I almost forgot." "Tomorrow I need to go to one of the council member's homes that I am house sitting for and hang up some picture frames for them as a surprise." "Would you like to come with me in the morning to do so." Lotus asked him as she poured him a glass of wine.  "I would be delighted to come with you." he said as he took a sip of wine.  "And I am guessing with this wine that I am not going anywhere tonight am I?" he said with a wink.  Lotus shook her head no and went down the hallway, beckoning him to follow her by just motioning with one finger.  Raven followed her down the hallway, closing the door behind him.  They were back together again, and nothing was going to pull them apart tonight.

Raven awoke to warmth and sunshine.  His body was covered in warmth and felt very soft.  The sunshine was bright coming through the window to where he began to stir.  He slowly opened his eyes and stretched out, smiling as he saw the happy little stars and moons that were circling above him.  His paws reached up for them, letting out a happy giggle as he began to squirm.  It wasn't long before a familiar face appeared above him at the crib rail.  Raven tried to think of their name.  He knew the name but it was hard to remember.  He smiled and giggled and squirmed on the crib mattress as she reached down and scooped the squirmy little kit fox up into her arms.  As she held him to her chest he remembered her name. "Mama!" he said as happily as he could.  Lotus stopped in shock and held him out in front of her, a smile growing on her face. "What did you say my little Raven?" she said down to the baby fox in her arms.  "Mama!" came the reply, quick and clear as a bell.  "You just said your first words!" Lotus said as she beamed with maternal pride, lifting the fox to her and giving him butterfly kisses on his cheek and rubbing noses with him. "Thats right little one I am Mama!" she said right back to him as she went about carrying him over to the glider in the corner.  The little kit was just a happy ball of fluffy energy now.  He was cooing and babbling up at her as if he was telling her his life's dreams.  Lotus just smiled and cooed back to him, lightly tickling his tummy and feetpaws.

It had finally happened, Raven's adult mind had finally ceased to be in control anymore.  Once he had uttered his first word his adult mind finally became one with his new infantile reality.  No more was there the internal struggle to try and stay an adult here anymore.  There was not 2 minds in this one baby body.  Now there was only one consciousness inside.  Lotus looked down upon him and smiled as she placed the nipple to his muzzle and began to feed the young fox kit.  A more serene moment could not be found as the day started to begin.  This was happiness in its purest form and the both of them could not be any more at peace than they were right now.

Raven awoke with a start.  That time the visions were so much more vivid than anytime before.  He thought he could taste, smell, and feel, and not only that but remember what had just happened.  As he looked down upon himself, he quickly noticed the paws that were holding him close.  Then he remembered where he was.  Laying there beside him was his beautiful flower, his Lotus.  He gently leaned closer and kissed her cheek.  As he did so her eyes opened and she kissed him back.  "Good morning my angel, did you sleep well?" Raven said to her as he looked into her eyes. "Mmm, once we finally got to sleep that is casanova." she said back with a wink as she kissed him more deeply.  Raven let out a murr as he melted into her kiss.  "I love a little bit of sugar in the morning." he said with a wink as they proceeded to finally get themselves awake.  "We have a busy day today don't we?" he asked her as she got up and put on her robe. "We sure do, which is why I am going to make us a good breakfast to start the day." "Would you like coffee too?" she asked him. "Sure would hun, could I also take a shower before breakfast?" he asked her politely. "Go right ahead, everything you need is in the bathroom." she said as she headed down to make breakfast.

As Raven got out of the shower, the smells of bacon and eggs and coffee were now reaching his vulpine nose from the kitchen.  He started to dry off and get his fur brushed out when he noticed what was there for him to wear this morning.  "Lotus, you clever minx!" he said as he laughed and rolled his eyes.  As he exited the shower he was almost blinded by the flash of a camera. "You know if you keep stealing my pink nightgown from there I will just have to get one in your size." said a very happy Lotus from behind the camera. "Come on now, breakfast is already on the table." She said as she took his hand in hers and they went into the dining room together.  As they sat down beside one another Raven couldn't help but notice how Lotus' features had the appearance as if she had aged more rapidly than normal overnight.  Her markings had a bit more silver in color rather than the white and blue that they usually only contained.  Lotus even seemed to be acting more motherly than he had noticed before.  He thought nothing of it as they small talked about what was going to be on the agenda for today.  "So you say its another council member you are house sitting for?" he asked her. "Why yes, they are out of town on an important trip and need me to look after their home." "I wish to hang some pictures up while they are gone as a surprise for when they get back." she said as they finished eating.

"Well no time like the present to get on down there and get started." Raven said enthusiastically to Lotus.  They both got properly dressed and got in Raven's car, heading across town.  When they got to the house, Raven noticed that it was quite a bit larger than the home Lotus lived in. "Wow, they must be an important member of the council for them to have this home." he said as they stepped out of the car. "Oh yes they are one of our most important members and are vital to the continued lineage and history of the council." Lotus said as they entered the home.  As the twon went inside, Raven saw lots of boxes scattered about the house.  They all looked like they had recently been moved in, with some not even opened yet and none of them had any dust on the top either. "So did they just move into this house or something?" Lotus was busy picking up the picture frames and getting them out before she replied with "What?" "Oh! Oh that!" "It looks that way yes but no, they are just having renovations done and these are from the rooms that are going to be renovated." she said back to him.  The two set to work with all the stuff that Lotus needed and wanted to do in the house.  Finally Raven was hanging the last of the picture frames as Lotus was putting the pictures into the already hung ones. "Hun?" Raven asked her. "This one doesn't have a picture in it yet." he said as he hung it up. "Oh that one is for a very special photo that we have to take before we go." she replied "Whats so special about the photo?" he asked her. "Well they want to have a picture of you and me before we leave." she said.

"Well then, if they want a special photo then I guess there is no better time than the present." Raven said as he turned toward Lotus.  The young fox went to one knee as he pulled a small box out of his pocket.  "Lotus, my angel, and the love of my life, will you marry me?"

To be continued.
