I totally forgot to upload the final version of the suit to Weasyl and IB. D:
Well here is the final product of the current armored collar, designated the Mk II, alongside the view of the whole suit in artsy form. I forgot the name of the photographer that took it, but this was taken at Niagara Falls Comic Con 2014. I will be wearing this suit again in October when Comic Con goes to Hamilton,
Armored collar was custom prefabed and built by me, the body armor is an Interceptor outer tactical vest body armor suit made by Phantom, with an additional 20mm of 'armor' padding inserted front and back, as well as slightly less so along the sides. On the arms we have OD knee pads shingled with OD elbow pads along the outer biceps down to the forearms and wrists. Gloves have a plate inside of them to protect the knuckles from impact injuries and are a mix of leather and kevlar. Kneepads which are not seen here are CADPAT with an OD front plate. On the hips are 2 battlebelts are jury-rigged together and have a fabric plate protecting the rump, as well as the front plate protecting the goods. Helmet is a PASGT riot helmet with visor.
Gun in this picture is a Nerf Vulcan custom painted by me and it still functions fully with batteries inserted. I thought I did a fairly nice job on it. :) Using this suit on the airsoft field, just add revision smoke lenses, rated to protect up to a .22 round, shotgun buckshot, and shrapnel, as well as swapping out the nerf gun for an A&K Mk43 Mod 0 seal version of the M60 machinegun.
If you would like to follow along and see more updates and possible new armored collar designs, I have a community page on Facebook, OntarioAirsoftJuggernaut found here: https://www.facebook.com/OntarioAirsoftJuggernaut. Feel free to like and comment there if you have any ideas for improvements to the suit, such as specific armored protector pieces. I am currently considering some knee and shin protectors by Damascus, as they look fairly menacing, and go all the way to the boots. :D
