Cassie and Aaron are not your normal twins. From an early age, they felt differently about each other and were at odds with these feelings most of their childhood. They were told that this was normal for twins, that they often shared a special deep bond that normal siblings did not have.
It wasn't until they were in their early teens that they finally figured out what these feelings were: Love.
Cassie came to Aaron one night with tears in her eyes and poured herself out to him. Aaron remained silent the whole time, holding his sister close as she bared her feelings. She went silent for a moment and finally looked up at him, embarrassed and on the verge of apologizing for everything. She was about to speak again when Aaron kissed her, immediately confirming he felt the same way. Fresh tears streaked down her face, but not of sadness, of joy.
After that night, things changed between them. They felt closer to each other, closer than they had ever felt before. They knew this closeness was dangerous, however, and did their best to conceal this forbidden love. Thankfully, being siblings meant they could get away with a lot, even more so being twins. While some noted a subtle change in the twin's relationship around this time, they assumed it to be the strengthening of the bond of family, not of lovers.
Some time later, they took the next step in their taboo relationship. By this point they regularly shared the same bed, but when Cassie came to Aaron one night, something was different. Passion overtook both of them and led both to lose their virginity. They knew there was no turning back as they lay in bed afterwards, a new fire ignited inside them that only served to further tie them together.
They were able to hide their activities from the prying eyes of family and friends, but they still had their close calls. Eventually, they knew they had to admit this forbidden love to the world. The question was whether to do so openly, or to let others connect the dots after they abandon everything to start their new life.
They chose to be open, and it almost cost them dearly. Their father did not take the news well, going into a rage upon hearing their confession. Their mother did her best to try and settle him down, but she was tossed away as he went for the twins. Cassie tried to run but was spun around as her father took hold of her arm. He slapped her and bellowed at the top of his lungs, "How could you do this? you are not my children!"
Aaron came from nowhere and struck his father, sending him reeling from the blow and releasing Cassie. There was a small scuffle between the two males before Aaron managed to get away, grabbing his sister and running with her out the door. They escaped with what they had on their backs and Aaron's wallet. A meager amount of cash was inside, but it was enough for a hotel on the far side of town where they ended up after running all night.
The pair collapsed on the floor, exhausted, beaten, cast out from their one and only home. Cassie buried herself in Aaron's chest and cried. They both cried. Aaron clutched her tightly, whispering into her ear between sobs, "I'll never let you go, ever." He repeated it over and over like a mantra, each time becoming louder and firmer in his resolution until Cassie looked up at him.
"What will we do now? How will we survive? We have nothing..." She dejectedly looked back down at Aaron's tear-stained shirt as her sentence trailed off. Aaron lifted her chin with his hand, looking her in the eyes before kissing her forehead and saying,
"All we need is each other."
Everyone, I formally introduce Cassie and Aaron. Their relationship had a bit of a rough start, but they're tough coons, they'll adapt and overcome.
