I meant a necessity when commissioning for clean art, I'd feel embarrassed myself to link a ref with dicks and such on it to a clean artist asking for chibis, know what I'm saying?
And I agree, I normally don't like taking off bits to make it clean, but in some cases it works, such as Pokemon art, otherwise I just add underwear on anthros.
