To be honest, after Lykaan (his father) being classed as an arctic, and Malessa (His mother) being classed as Grey Wolf, the kids got a little hard to classify.
Easy way out, the female took the male's Arctic gene's and the males took the female's Grey gene's

Making it less complicated, the generalization of 'Canis' (being of canine genes) works better. 'Lupus' refers to a wide variety of wolves, My guess is around %60 of all wolves are classed as 'Lupus'

I think I over think thing too often...
