Diaper Wishes and Baby Powder Dreams
The warm water from the shower felt good on his face as he let it pour down. Still Raven had only one thing on his mind. What happened last night and why did it feel so real to him? Who was the other person in the dream? If it was a dream? Raven knew a theory about dreams, that each face you see in a dream is someone you have seen. Your mind takes a mental photograph and uses that picture for playtime. So was this someone he had met before? And why was he so little in this dream. He had never felt like that before. He'd never had dreams where he was little again. so why did this happen all of a sudden now?
Raven had little time to dwell on it. It was a new day and a new week. Time to get ready for work. After he showered and brushed out his white fur, including his black tail tip and black ear tips, he brushed his blue hair after. "Yeah, looking good today!" he said while pointing to the mirror and giving a smirk before laughing at how cheesy that looked. "Oh well, guess it's their loss if the females aren't chasing after me." he said before gtting dressed. After a quick breakfast, he headed out the door and on to work. Raven got over to his truck, got his load assignment and headed out onto the road for the week.
As the week went on, the memories of that dream faded from his memory. More and more it felt like it was just a weird dream and nothing more. Finally the weekend was there. After getting back to the service center and shutting down the truck for the weekend he headed back home for a well deserved break. Sitting down with his dinner and watching a movie, Raven began to nod off. He put up the leftovers, turned out the lights and locked his bedroom door like he always did, then turned out the lights and fell asleep to the flicker of the screen as the movie continued to play.
"Time to wake up my little one!" said a voice out of the pleasant slumber he was having. "Come on now, open your eyes my cute little kit!" the voice said again. Raven just let out a soft murf and rolled over onto his side. He was about to drift back to sleep when his eyes shot open as if a light turned on. He turned and looked up in shock to see a female wolf staring down at him. He was back in the dream! This time it was sunny and he could see the other person. She was a female wolf, that was certain, her white fur and light blue tufts on her head fit the picture of an Arctic Wolf quite nicely. "Who are you?" Raven tried to say but it only came out as baby babble, and high pitched as well. "What happened to my voice?" he tried to say. The young wolf looked down at him. "Why yes it is a good day!" she said in reply to him, like one would say to a child when they don't understand what they are saying.
The wolf leaned down and wrapped her paws around him, lifting the little fox kit up into the air over her head before lowering him just above her nose and nuzzling the little kit lovingly before holding him in her arms and carrying him across the nursery. As she carried him, Raven finally got to look at his surroundings for a few brief moments before he was set down across the room and laid on his back on some platform. The wolf leaned down and tickled his tummy. Raven giggled and squirmed despite himself. She began to coo down to him, talking in that high pitched sing song voice reserved for babies and young toddlers. Raven was hardly paying attention, he was too busy looking around to notice what she was saying, or that she was undoing the snaps in the legs of the sleeper he was currently dressed in. It was a nursery alright. The room was painted in a shade of blue, with different pastel colored appliques of baby animals and stuffed toys. There was even some alphabet blocks in the wall papered top border.
RIP! The sudden sound of something tearing brought Raven back to attention as he looked down in the direction of the sound. He looked down in time to see the mama wolf pulling the second tape and realized rather calmly that "Oh she is just changing my diaper." he thought. He went back to look around the room then froze as what he just thought hit his brain. "She is changing MY diaper?!" his mind screamed back. Why was he wearing a diaper? "Wait! Get a hold of yourself Raven, its just a dream, nothing more than a dre-" he was about to say but let out a yip in surprise as a cold baby wipe went across his damp bottom, shocking him awake even more than he already was. "Wait...that felt cold!" "How can I feel cold in a dream?" He began to squirm about, wriggling his legs as it hit him. This was no dream. It couldn't be a dream!
The wolf looked down and quickly cleaned up his bottom as she held him still as he squirmed "Oh! alright little one, its ok, it was just a little cold huh?" "Lets get you into a fresh diaper and we get some num nums into your tummy hmm?" she said down to him as she went about the routine practiced by mothers and caretakers for decades. Raven was shocked to say the least as he tried to get away but having no luck as he was held down while having a fresh diaper slid under and his bottom powdered. She then pulled up and taped on the diaper snug before snapping up the sleeper and scooping the little fox into her arms and carrying him out towards the kitchen. As they were leaving the room, the fox saw a sign on the door of the nursery. "Raven's room" it said in big block letters. He pointed at it and babbled unintelligibly as the mother stopped and looked at where he was pointing. "Thats right hun, thats your room." she said as she continued to carry him down the hallway.
It was his room? How was it his room? Who was this lady and why and how did she know his name was Raven? As they walked down the hallway, they passed a mirror. Raven caught a fleeting glimpse of himself in the reflection. He was clearly a kit, that was certain, and from what he could tell, his markings were the same as well. How was this possible? It looked like him from when he was a kit but he was grown up wasn't he? Could what he had thought was his life been the dream? They couldn't both be real could they? His thoughts were interrupted as he was set down in a playpen in what had to be the living room. "Now you be a good baby and play with your toys while mama makes some breakfast for her lil baby!" she said as she turned away and headed into the kitchen.
Raven sat there for a moment then looked down at his paws and what he was wearing. His paws were so tiny now. His body was covered with a light blue colored onesie with snaps on them. "Snaps! thats why I couldn't find a zipper before!" he thought as he remembered the previous time he was here. "How little am I? Can I even walk?" He tried to stand up but all that happened was his body straightened up but his legs didn't push himself upward. He leaned forward and tried to lift up with his paws, only succeeding in getting himself onto all fours as if he was going to crawl somewhere. The now kit fox crawled over to te edge of the mesh sided playpen and tried to reach the railing, his paws barely getting a grip. Slowly he began to steady himself and pull himself up. Once he got up high enough, he smiled and let out a childish giggle. He could at least stand up. The little kit let go as he began to right himsel more, before feeling a sinking feeling and realizing too late that he was falling back down.
A light padded thud was all the sound that came when his diapered bottom landed on the floor of the playpen. Raven sat silent for a moment in shock. He was trying to think when he could hear a crying sound. It sounded really loud too! As if it was right...next...to..."Oh My!" I'm the one that's crying!" he realized as the female wolf quickly ran from the kitchen and picked up the crying fox, holding him to her busom and rocking him gently as she shushed him and rubbed his back. "aww whats a matter Raven?" "did something scare my little foxy baby?" she said down to him, the concern for his well being clear through the inflection in her voice. "There there now! Mama's got her little man!" His crying quickly dissipated to that of a soft sniffle as she held him and then carried him with her over to the dining room, and a waiting high chair. "Thats my brave boy! now lets get some food in your tummy so you can grow up to be a big and strong foxy!" she said to him as he was set down on the seat and the tray slid into place, securing him into the high chair. The wolf placed a bottle on the tray and headed into the kitchen, coming back with a bowl and a bib for him. She placed the bowl on the tray and tied the bib around his neck. Raven looked down and tried to make out the letters. It was as if his ability to read was somehow fading away. Whereas just moments ago he read his name on the sign on the nursery door, now he couldn't make out the letters on the bib.
Even though he wasn't paying attention, the wolf certainly was. She set about feeding the little kit with the oatmeal that was in the bowl, making airplane noises as Raven looked forward just in time to have the first spoonful scrape along his muzzle before finding its target in his maw, the oatmeal smearing along his cheek. The fox giggled in childish delight as he swallowed the oatmeal. "Wait, why am I laughing?" thought Raven in the back of his mind. He found it odd that he would find having food caked on his fur now a giggling idea, yet there it was. "Uh oh! Looks like Lotus' little man got some nummy oatmeal on his wittle cheek!" she said while smiling brightly and feeding his another spoonful. "Good thing we got him a bib on huh?" shje said more to herself, not really expecting an answer or for the young fox to even know what was being said. As the feeding went on, it was as if his body was on autopilot. He wanted to control himself but it just wasn't happening. The infant body he was now in was gaining more and more control of him. Even his mind was beginning to slip into this new reality. As he looked up, his face and bib and even his paws hacving bits of breakfast on them, he saw Lotus holding a camera up. "Smile for mama!" she said then *Flash*.
Raven woke up in a panic. He was back home, his home! In his own bed once more. "I have got to get a hold of myself!" He said out loud before walking to the bathroom and taking a colder than usual shower. He wanted to be sure he was fully awake today. As he headed out the door sometime later to hit the road, he just had the thought of "Why do I keep having these vivid memories?" But as quick as the work week started, he forgot all about them. It was time to head home sooner than he thought. As he was driving back home, he saw a car stopped on the side of the road. A young female was out there trying to change a flat tire, and clearly struggling. Raven smiled, he had the time to kill anyway so he pulled up behind her car, set his brakes with a loud burst of air, and turned off the engine before getting out and walking towards the woman. "Could you use some help?" he said to her "Oh thank you so much!" "I got a flat and have been trying for a while to get this on!" said the woman before she stood up and looked over at the fox. Raven had to do a double take. That face! She was a wolf, and the coloring seemed to match his dreams, but she looked older than what was in his dreams. She had some spots in her fur that were turning silver, the markings not matching up with the speckled signs of aging in the fur changing the picture. "My name is Raven." he said to her, offering her his paw in a hand shake. "Nice to meet you Raven!" "I'm Lotus!"
