have you ever tried a regular ball point ink pen? beside it sometimes balling up a bit of dust at the tip (which u can just wipe on the side of something to clean it off), u can make some nice inking lines. just go lightly first, and go back and darken any lines u want gradually. if u practice it a bit, i bet it'll look darn good!

Most of the time I only use the lines to select areas of color that I can then render,then discard most of the line work.My problem with ballpoints is that they tend to smear with the slightest touch.Thanks for the suggestion-I know artists that would only use a brush and artists that would only use ballpoints.both have their good and bad sides.
