Nature Walk
I walk through the woods. I can see the trees above me and the sunlight shining down on the path in front of me. I can smell the flowers on the breeze as it blow over me. I marked my path with my knife so I knew my way back to my car. I have never been in this place before and wanted to know what was out there.
I could hear the animals making noises to find their mate. I smiled, as the air was calming and cool to the touch. I wanted to find out what was deeper down the path. I loved the feeling of the sun on my face and the noises of the world. I walked further down the path looking for something new to see.
I came up to a river with a few animals around it, as they drank from it. I smile and sit down for a bit and lay back to the ground. I look up to the trees moving back and forth to the wind. I could feel a little creature next to me lay down and curl up. I look to see a fox next to me. I pet it as my fur is the same as its.
I got up and started my walk again but this time with a little furry friend. He stayed close to me, as he was still a little kit. He kept looking up at me almost smiling. I bent over and picked the little guy up and he nuzzled into me. I followed the marks on the trees back to my car. He looked at the car and then back to me as I put him down but he kept following me.
I pick the little guy up and sat in the car as he runs around the car like he is thanking me. I pull out of the parking lot with my new friend and pet. He sits in the seat next to me as I drive down the road, back home to my loving wife. I pull up the driveway as she is sitting on the deck waiting for me to get home. I open the door and the fox jumps out and just looks at her. “Who is this little guy?” “Our new pet he walked up to me and let me take him home.”
The fox walk over to her and was rubbing against her leg. “I love him but what should we name him?” I pick up the little fox and it looks like he was smiling at me. “Kit?” It wagged its tail a bit as I held him. “Kit then.” I looked at him and took the little guy inside the house as he ran around the house to look at his new home. Anna and I hugged each other as we heard the little paws on the wood floor up stairs. “Our happy little Kit.” “Soon we will have a real one Leon.” I brought her in for a kiss as Kit ran into the wall upstairs and whimper.
