They cancelled it already? I only recently found out about it, Fox seems to cancel shows a lot.
Aside from that it's weird but there's no such thing as 'ruining' childhood for me. Perversion and stuff seems to just add onto it not takeaway. The morbid parts can suck but it no where near ruins anything. I guess I have a strong inner child. (or a very disturbed inner child).
