I wonder how the Ebola plague will finally end. I know that the Bubonic Plague caused a genetic shift (almost all genetic lines unable to fight the disease were wiped out, so the Black Death can't get going like that again.).* The ability to fight off Ebola may also have a genetic factor, but it's early to tell yet.
* Possibly Western Man's current culture may be have been possibled by plague, wiping out the moral quadrupeds, so cruel & unusual punishments and religious slavery are on the way out. Western Man evolved to the next rung ...
