I know it's a bit late, but this was meant to be my picture for the year of the horse. This was a difficult one to draw but once it was done I was sooooo happy with it! I was really surprised. The colouring was even harder still, but I eventually managed to do it and finished it yesterday. it got really confusing and annoying near the end so I'm kinda glad to be done with this.

The title is Chinese, pronounced "fung sh-way", and it's a concept referring to a style of interior decorating that teaches how certain colours, placement of colours and colour alignments can bring good fortune, and how the position and facing direction of furniture can be good fortune too.
it was the most fitting thing i could think of based on the theme of this picture and that it's chinese new year. and also the more cryptic oriental them happening over a modern setting is good too.

The setting here is basically that this young lady found this nice dream-catcher set in a mysterious looking oriental store. she'd just moved into the house with her fiancé and little sister and wanted to decorate the place. but the shopkeeper told her that they come in a set of four and cannot be sold separately, so she bought four. (heck, having three more of something for the same price isn't bad right?)
she was also instructed to hang them at certain places for the best Feng Shui, in order to bring good luck. she just wanted them as wall decorations anyway rather than hung above her bed so she didn't mind. She hung them up in the positions specified and then stood back (into the middle of the room) to have a look at how they looked up at the walls. just then they suddenly began glowing and strange markings flowed down the walls which made her shriek. they flowed across the floor and into a magic circle around her. she panicked and couldn't move and then suddenly everything went weird as she was overcome by dizziness and bright light. she felt gravity shift a little and couldn't understand this weird feeling, like her body was numb but at the same time wasn't, yet it felt different. she looked behind her to see she had turned into a centaur! and here we have the image, of her looking own with surprise at her new equine body.
I wonder what would have happened on a different zodiac year.

Eh, not to diminish the nice craftsmanship behind this piece, but aren't dreamcatchers a Native American thing? I don't think Chinese Feng Shui had any consideration for dreamcatchers.

They are, but dream catchers are a multicultural thing and are very commonly found in Chinese oriental shops.
