Dr. Robotnik still hasn't forgiven Sonic for taking his Son away from him those many years ago and so diligently spends his free time coming up with new insults to hurl at him everytime he see's him. :giggle:

So here is my first actual drawing with the Cintiq, I'm starting to get a little more confident using it now but a large part of me can't help but feel this picture could of been funnier if I had just drawn pen to paper like I usually do.
I don't really feel I'm there as a digital artist just yet and probably have a long road ahead of me. I'm not really confident at all using colours and shading and I'm not really sure using Flash to do all my art can give me the results I need. I don't really feel photoshop is my thing tbh, really I just want to jump in, put pen to tablet just as I would with a real pen and a piece of paper and just draw with it. Plus I now have all of my express keys programmed specifically for use with Flash.

We'll see how things go I suppose. Either way I plan to be a lot more productive from here on out. I'm going to start getting up earlier and work hard to get all my ideas out there and uploaded, both through traditional and digital means.

(P.S. Do you think this warrants a mature rating? I personally don't find these insults offensive but I guess it can vary depending on the beholder)

I have no idea of who this "son of Robotnik" is, and aside from that, these insults are the silliest I ever heard. Compare them to the Billingsgate Captain Haddock flings at everybody who crosses him. (see the TinTin graphic novels).

Tribe of Polynesians (spat at some border guards who imposed a steep entry fee on his bottles of liquor).

It's funny you mention Captain Haddock actually as he played a big part of inspiration for this sketch.
I don't really follow much of TinTin but the insults he would curse out in the animated show always stuck with me.
"Blue Blistering Barnacles and a thundering typhoons! ..Confound Everything!!"

But basically regarding the sketch, in the tv show 'The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog' Dr. Robotnik had a Son who was made just for the show but left Robotnik in his debut episode to join Sonic and be a freedom fighter.
The show never addressed it in anyway but I personally imagined Robotnik would of held a serious grudge against Sonic because of it.

"Billions of Blue Blistering Barnacles !" followed by crazy insults like "Carpet Sellers ! Tribe of Polynesians ! Trilobytes ! ...". One brat son of a shiek referred to him as "Mr. Blistering Barnacles" in some stories, for obvious reasons.

Sonic's visual is that of issues 1-6 of the comic, and the appeal of said visual wore off very quickly. I stopped buying it after that and did not return until #29-30 or so. Then I subscribed - until #134 when I cancelled and went away for good.

Do you mean his western design in the Archie Comic series by any chance?

Yeah its kinda weird the way Sonic evolved over the years. Back then Sega didn't really know what to do with Sonic after the first game was made so they just gave America and Europe permission to do whatever they wanted while they focused on their own audience so we ended up with over a dozen completely different versions of Sonic in comics, TV shows, manga, anime... even the games themselves don't really follow their own continuity as both Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic CD and SegaSonic Arcade in a way were all supposed to be the sequel to the first game yet are so radically different from one another.
It's bizarre.
