Fun photoshoots of the two Ball Jointed Dolls I was commissioned to do.
Male is Yoko as seen in the anime Yu Yu Hakusho.
Female is an original sea-themed character named Ocean Mist, created by the customer.
All paint work, dyed wigs, in-setted eyes & lashes, hand-sewed removable clothing and accessories all lovingly and carefully hand-crafted by me.
One more photoshoot to do of Ocean's alternate wig and dress, once I have both of their animal companions crafted.
Girl doll:
Commissioned request by kooky112 to take a ball jointed doll base (Angel of Dream brand) of her original character named Ocean Mist. This is outfit #2 with the dyed brown wig. She also has a full dress and a aqua wig that will be photographed again once I sew her a dragon companion from leather and fur.
Started off with the body- did some blush-up to make the toes and torso features more realistic, did full body repaint work in those areas to blend the blush.
Painted a dragon scar on her left arm, which was left by a dragon’s tail that wrapped around it.
Face: did what’s called a “face-up” in the doll world, painted around the eyes in my realism/anime-fusion style. All paint work is acrylic paints, same as my custom ponies.
Next up, in-setted the glass eyes. Took some model clay and coiled it around the backs of the eye balls, pushed them in and sealed the edges of the clay with Krazy glue.
Eye lashes were mailed to me with the doll base and are glued on with Krazy glue.
Brown wig: is a smaller wig that fits the doll’s head properly~ arrived to me completely white, dyed it with brown Rit Dye~
Hand-sewn pants and top:
Found a pattern for pants via google search. Printed it out in the correct measurements, traced the pieces onto stretchy dress fabric, then sewed the pieces together. I embellished this piece quite a bit in my own style. Sewed various textiles around the waist, detailed with pearl rhinestones. Pants are fully removable via snaps.
Top, used same dress material as the pants as a base then built up on it with lace, detailed in various beads. Fully removable via snaps in the back, and material tied around the back of the neck.
Boy doll:

All paint sealed with Artists Varnish and Mod Podge in some areas.
Wig: was mailed to me originally fully white. I dyed it myself with pearl gray Rit Dye, and very cautiously pinched some purple Rit Dye between my fingers into the dye bath of the gray while it was boiling on my stove top in a large pot. I did approximately 3 pinches of purple, with half a bag of the gray.
Fox ears are hand-sewn from a scrap of real fox fur, the under-belly portion. Inner ears are lined with hand-sewn thin beige real leather.
Tail is the same exact fur from the scrap piece I used for the ears. The Tail is sewn to the removable sash that fastens around the waist of his outfit via Velcro.
Rest of outfit:
Started off with the shoes. They are hand-sewn from real thin beige leather, lined with faux snake skin piping along the tops.
Next up, drew out a pattern for the pants. Hand-sewed them as well, with elastic running through the bottoms of the pant legs where I scrunched up the material to make the pants appear slightly baggy like the real deal.
Pants slide off easily.
Used some large lengths of the fabric for his torso/train pieces for the outfit, planned all of that out as well and sewed it all together. Main torso piece of the outfit slides over his head to be removed.
Sash is approximately 4 layers of two different widths of white bias tape all sewn together with the tail sewn underneath it, then with Velcro stuck to the ends to finish.
