In all honesty, I have to correct myself. Carl was a great and clever musical talent, but Mike Maltese was the writer for Chuck Jones on some of Chuck's best work, including most of Chuck's Road Runner shorts, which you might have heard of. Mike did the lyrics to the duet "Return My Love" from "What's Opera Doc". Now, given how cultured and literate these two SYUOOPER-geniuses of the desert clearly are, it is reasonable to assume that Dottie had some latent inspiration, which the ALGs merely brought out.

I have a 33rp LP album of his selections, ranging from the Okeh Laughing Record to modern -and oft risqué- pieces. Some I stopped playing partway through (Earache my Eye) and some I would not play at all -as I was NOT crazy about Party Record stuff that was risqué -or worse.
As for the molecule song, it was on a 78rp I had as a kid. I forget just what the record was about. It wasn't the one about the steamboat ride.... Something about atoms,....
