Name: Wheel of Fortune Numeral: X Planetary Trump of: Jupiter Hebrew Letter: Kaph (palm of hand) Tree of Life: The conglomerate on the way between Chesed and Netzach. Concept: Where stillness and chaos are separated by the simplest of conveniences. Description: The planet Jupiter is surrounded by three creatures. Hermanubis is represented by the jackyl/monkey creature on the bottom right holding the silver caduceus. Atop is a yellow sphynx holding a sword. The middle left is Typhon represented by a white king cobra holding a trident. Jupiter is crested by a circle cut in for parts adorned with a red poppy (five petals) and wrapped in orange ribbon creating a six point star. Character: This card contains three characters and one big secret. It's not that the wheel turns, it's that it breathes. Hermanubis walks along the horizon in search of the Table of Jupiter. He spots Typhon on the other edge of the horizon and the two begin to berate each other with insults, pointing out each others differences. It continues in this way for an indeterminate amount of time, an infinity. They spot the Sphinx on the horizon and Hermanubis recognises it as greater than human and Typhon recognises it as greater than demon. The two begin to ask the Sphinx riddles and for advice and its answers perplex the pair and they begin to regard the Sphinx as a philosopher. This goes on for another great length of time. The Sphinx finally gives in and admits it’s on the same journey as the pair, all three of them are searching for the Table of Jupiter, and only by working together can they accomplish this, the Sphinx is a hybrid, neither human or demon. Then Jupiter speaks and admits the horizon they’ve been edging along is in fact his table and if they’d only meet in the centre the trio would realise they are all reflections of himself. Meaning: The world around you spins and as you attempt to sort out what is desirable amidst the maelstrom, remember to breathe and reflect on similarities more than differences, pool your resources. Don’t fracture yourself. Notes: The Wheel is said by some in the Tarot field to have seven spokes and is most famous in the Rider version as an eight spoked wheel. In this version, the wheel behaves as a cell dividing and moving from three wheel turners to six points on the star. This reflects the Supernal Triad becoming/descending into Chesed, Geburah and Tipareth.
