I'm still trying to get myself together to do art regularly again. So I figured I'd try helping myself by getting things off my mind, therefore I'll be making a series of helpers pointing out common mistakes in art, made sometimes by otherwise high level artists even.
I've been experimenting a bit with sketching tail belt weapons with hip supports to keep the weight off the tail, on a fluffy tail it would look like there is a double edged broadaxe sticking out of the fur :3 meh, such a silly concept ..
It's not impossible to put a belt on a fluffy tail, either close to the bone and then it wouldn't be that noticeable, but if strapped over the fur then it would need to be tighter and thereby change the shape of the tail to several fluffballs (like on Starfox's character Krystal)
But this is surely some good advise and things one might not be aware of .. I only knew 4 of them.
