I think a game with that name already exists, but the name is just so fitting.
Story: The Parfnar have conquered the galaxy. Always strong warriors, their vicitory was assured when the developed an material that was indestructible. Their ships, even each individual soldier was suddenly invincible (suddenly as in... the few centuries it took to produce enough and cover their power armor and ship hulls with the material).
All planets are now under Parfnar's rule and they continued their iron grip for so long people have forgotten how it was before being conquered.
However the command of Parfnar has received worrysome news. 5 soldiers have been killed... while they were wearing their armor.... the fleet is mobilized. This thread has to be eliminated immediately before the rumors spread and planets uprise.
You are Qixxia. A creature hailing from a swampy planet in an off corner of the galaxy. Hardly worth the effort to conquer Parfnar only established a pro forma outpost there. You are a female scientist working for the Parfnar and with a combination of mag genius inspiration and sheer luck, you developed the ultimate gun.
This weapon does no destory normal matter, it destorys the underlying fabric of reality itself. As such the impenetrable Parfnar armor is as effective as a sheet of paper.
But all of Parfnar is out to get your tail... all you got is your new toy to liberate the galaxy.
Gameplay: This game is an FPS with the twist that you get the BFG at the start of the game. There are no upgrades to it and it won't get stronger. The problem is that it destroys everything!
Fire modes:
Beam - Fires a white beam with half a millimeter thickness. Essentially a thin light saber with infinite length (technically its roughly 1 light year, but on a planetary scale it might as well be infinite).
Charge - By charging up you can fire a single much thicker beam. The diameter of the beam can be increased to 5 meters (if you charge long enough). Range is as infinite as the beam.
The goal of the game is to proceed through the stages and killing enemies without destroying the part of the map you need such as computer terminals, ladders, reactor cores and others.
If you fire your weapon in a space ship for example it will exit through the hull and decompression starts. Better wear a space suit!
Of course doors make no sense since you can just destory it. However if something is behind the door you need... maybe you do want to use the key.
Notes: Btw. the device Qixxia is holding in her left hand is a personal computer/tablet. It can project holograms of course.
The blue stuff in front of her weapon is also a hologram helping with aiming.
