And that, is probably the best, and at the same time most brutal way to deal with people like that: to ignore them, to show that you're stronger than them, and despite the crap that they're flinging at you, you'll remain above it and refuse to become like them, bitter and angry.

Showing them that try as they might, as hard as they try and drag you down, they have no power over you, because you're stronger than them... best way to handle people like that.
