Contest entry for https://detectivescheper.deviantart.com/ My borzoi character, Misha just standing out in the snow trying not to look sad, I guess. I had too many ideas and was so busy I almost didn't finish it in time! D: But I did finish it, so I'm happy. I don't really have too much to say about this piece other than I am going to probably be moving away from lines pieces and work on more of a painterly looking style in 2014. Not that I finished a lot of full pieces in 2013 anyways. xD
Edit: (almost forgot to write the little story bit to go with it.)
The silence pressed upon him, and the cold of the wind whipped at his fur. Despite being built for this harsh land, even Misha felt the chill that evening. The chill that he felt, however, was not merely from the elements but from a deep aching in his chest; a missing piece that had been ripped away from him too soon. And it is all my fault...
The borzoi cast his dark gaze to the sky, wishing that he could go back to a time before he had made that fatal mistake. The wind shifted briefly, throwing flakes from the ground into his face. He shut his eyes, shaking his head. Upon opening his eyes again, Misha imagined a lithe white form bounding ahead of him, but he knew it was only a trick of the snow. He bowed his head, the weight of his misery pressing upon him like a physical weight. Annushka... I am so sorry.
