You are not truly invincible until you are wearing the Tanooki suit, and wearing Goomba's Shoe on top of it.

And only on one occasion whilst wearing both of the above have I also had the fortune of coming across a Starman. At that point I became God.

What you really need is a takooni suit, and FOUR boots, one on your feet, one on your head (with holes poked through or else the concept loses its effectiveness) and one on each arm. You're a fucking tank till you hit the end of the level and they all disappear =(
