Although having many underlings and loyal subjects is very important if you're a roughly 4 kg/8 lbs arctic fox, sometimes there just isn't a substitute for properly threatening someone by yourself. With a weapon which is immediately recognizable by the intended victim even if it's loud, messy, and less effective than more modern pieces. :P
