This is another commission from the wonderfully-talented delthero, and like many things I commission, it's got a fair bit of backstory!
For those of you that might follow my DeviantArt, you may have noticed that there was a rather long chain of events which ended with me getting a mint with tag Mewtwo Bath Buddy - a collectable that I've been chasing for a long time. Now granted, I did have a bath buddy to call my own before this, but I never thought I'd have one as gem mint as the one that made its way into my hands recently!
(I can be a bit more open with the story on FA than DA - basically, the $1,475 bath buddy...I knew everyone that was bidding on it within a couple days of it ending, who was trying to do what, and was able to mold everything into a perfect little chain of events based on that, once I found out the BB was heading my way. While it leaves everyone quite happy with how things turned out, I still made out in the end, which seems to be a common occurrence with these grail deals.)
I was reflecting on some of the happenings in regards to high-end Mewtwo collectable items over recent years...specifically, when looking over towards my dresser and seeing THREE Bath Buddies staring back at me (though two of them will be going to others in the near future)
...it occurred to me that pretty much any time anything of value within the Mewtwo fandom is offered for sale or could potentially change hands, usually I'm immediately notified about it, and most of those grails pass through me or are directed by me to go to a friend or mate. A friend of mine, after hearing the full story with this recent trade, told me I was the "Don Vito Corleone of the Mewtwo fandom." ...and thus this commission was born.
Odds are, if you're a Mewtwo fan and we've been cordial with one another, I will be more than happy to help you out if it's within my power to do so...though someday, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me...
