As he sat upon his porch
On the late October night
The moon gleaming through the fog
A lantern burning bright beside the door
His beacon of hope and love
Through the dense fog he watches and waits
Waiting for a sign of his true love's fore coming arrival
Only silence filling his senses
The path never to be taken,
He waits for eternity
On the bare porch for his love
Struck down upon his ebony steed
Two lives lost from hatred
Hatred of their forbidden love
He waits faithfully from his life to the next
Never to glimpse the face of happiness
