Colors of December

"Around Christmastime, he called at seven, desperate to go out. I was going to a party, and he got there, and there were a lot of very beautiful women around, people working on commercials. He came in even grungier than he usually went out. My friend who threw the party asked "What do you like to do?" He said "I like to be sitting in a room with people listening to my music." And she said okay, and walked away. Ten minutes later, he said "I gotta go." Then, a week later, he started to emerge from this intense period with an incredible lightness. He was so pleased with himself, said the play is so smart. He prided himself on smart - that was his favorite word. He said, about a week and a half before he died, "I wouldn't change one word." No, he said he wanted to change one sentence. I don't know what it was."
- Eddie Rosenstein, on his friend and former roommate Jonathan Larson

Such a beautiful and sad song... :( This definitely shows that you're more than just a bouncy composer squirrel, and that this is as well-performed as any could hope to hear.

Thank you for posting this here on IB! :)

Thank you so much for the kind words; they always mean a lot.

Just listening to my own music after I create it, I always find it hard to tell if anyone else is going to enjoy it. My whole life, I've had all this music in my head and I just feel compelled to record it so I'm always unsure as to how it will be received by others. It's so great that there are people listening to and enjoying (and letting me know that they are enjoying!) the music I put up. I'm always happy to see it make an impression on someone. =3

I know how that is, being a writer... (I just finished a story that was more than 40 years in the making.)

I try to catch as much of your music as I can on FA, and encourage you to post the ones I do like here on IB, so I can comment & +fave, although I do think you should post all new material as you go along, to both sites, so others can hear the range of music you're quite capable of doing, whether I like them or not-- IB needs music, and not just to please me! :)

We all worry how others are going to view our creative work, be us writers or musicians, or graphic artists, and hope to Heaven above that somebody likes or is moved by what we do. As with you, I take great joy in knowing if someone smiled or laughed whilst reading my stories- When I know this, I know I'm doing something right! :) Just as with you, a musician who hopes to have a similar reaction to his music. Yes, you are doing it right, my friend. :)
