Mario is indeed the hero of the Mushroom Kingdom and many good residents do help him out quite a bit. That doesn't mean he can go up to anyone and just assume they'll just give him their services! Jumping on an unexpected yoshi's back? He is fortunate that he didn't get mauled to death! Meanwhile, Luigi and Peach watch in awe while Toad rolls around frantically as Mario gets a taste of his own medicine.
If Mario doesn't pass out carrying Showtime around, changing the dino's diapers would do the trick.
