For many Epokras was a scourge of the desert, a mighty and savage dragon that raided large swathes of the trading roads throughout the long Vice Desert. Many ferocious and mighty clans of various creatures swore allegiance to her and offered tribute in exchange for control and powerful artifacts.
When the eyes of travelers or other creatures were removed from her she could drop her facade. She wasn't an intelligent being but merely a delighted pet eager to bring pride to her Master Regar, a small and skittish yet easily excited kobold.
It seemed so foggy and distant now to try and recount the details about how they met. She had been lazing about on a small rise overlooking an oasis when three small kobolds came to her. One, named Martivir, was a sly being though his clothes were almost silly things thrown together to attempt to create an image of important worth.
Martivir was guarded by his brother, Dustrudrvers, a significantly bigger kobold... why he was almost the size of a human teen with the cursed and infected blood of a werewyvern. He was much more aggressive than his brother... Martivir even had to chastize and silence him quite often during their intial conversation.
And the third was her soon to be Master, Regar. He seemed silent and scared at first (she felt distaste towards the weak little kobold.) And yet he would become her Master and she would eagerly serve and obey him.
Martivir had told her that he came bringing tribute to show the appreciation his clan had for her (as well to negotiate the creation of a new clan that sought leadership under her wing.) Many kobold clans would occasionally try to curry favour among dragonkind. They were generally ambitionless beings that worshipped dragons as godlike entities. She had figured she would see what they brought and accept it though demand more tribute later (and possibly attempt to have more kobolds that were stronger and obedient like Dustrudrvers, albeit with less aggression and more obedience.)
But, when the small kobold began showing her tribute her mind seemed to become slow and tired. It became harder and harder for her to want to speak and instead preferring the praise placed on her by Martivir along with the words he spoke of leadership and desires.
She could barely remember the details... only remembering the bliss of ignorance and simple thought. It felt nice to be told what to do... what her desires were... how to act. Especially by the kobolds. She remembered the intoxicating smell of their form, the delight of their wagging tails, the pleasure of listening to their skittish voices. She wanted them to be with her, to guard herand to be around her.
The young kobold had offered her 3 choices...
1. She could be fully in control of her mind, dominant though accepting advice from the young kobold Regar.
2. She could serve as a servant to them. She would become a guardian of the clan that was obedient to their whim while having Regar serve as her advisor (and also exercising significant control in the clan.)
3. She could let her mind just go... becoming a happy pet without a care or worry and only put on a facade of control before those that were of other kobold clans or creatures. Regar would be the true leader. She would act as a symbol of the clan... but when prying eyes were distant she would merely roll on her back with a purr and rumble... eagerly looking to Regar for commands or praise that would make her feel delighted.
She had chosen the third response and thus became a pet of her Master, Regar, who under Martivir's guidance formed the Asnatel Clan, a smaller branch of the main clan. Whenever prying eyes were removed from her she would reveal her true mind... that of a happy pet eager to get a belly rub or praise from Regar, her Master.
Semi-based on an oooooold RP I once did with Sovie/Sovandar. <: A blue dragon that becomes the pet of a clan of kobolds.
