Brooklyn and my OC, Sara, just chilling together on a nice Manhattan night.

I've come to the conclusion there isn't enough Gargoyle fan art and there definitely isn't enough Brooklyn fan art.  I've must have watched the first and second season now three times with some sporadic Goliath Chronicles thrown in there.  I honestly think Gargoyles was one of the best cartoon series EVER.

And yeah... Brooklyn is still smoking hot after 19 years lol.

Brooklyn and Gargoyles (c) Disney.
Sara and art (c) myself.

I remember this cartoon when I was a kid, it was still cool even now, I got the whole series on DVD.

I once had this dream of the show but I don't think very many people would listen to it.

I've got the first season on DVD, looking for the other two.

I wish I could dream of Gargoyles :)  Was yours a good one?

I know where you could find the whole series on DVD but if I tell you, I may have to let you know that through sending a PM to you.

The dream I had was good, you would think it would be a good idea for another Gargoyles show or for a film of Gargoyles. I can tell you about it if your interested.

Nice interpretation. It looks like it might have actually been a scene in one of the episodes. :D

Gargoyles was an amazing show in many respects, and really shined in the writing.  It had a wonderful balance of action and drama, rarely ever becoming too bogged down in one or the other.  It had villains you could relate to instead of ones that were evil just to be evil.  Motivations of the characters weren't always initially clear, but eventually what drove nearly all the characters was brought into the light.  Relationships were extremely complicated for a cartoon.  So many of the characters were tragic, and more than one episode had managed to bring me to tears.  Most of the loose ends were tied up very neatly in Goliath Chronicles.  There were reveals I didn't see coming at all and caught me off guard.  There were very heavy subjects introduced.  Religion was dealt with without being heavy handed.  Difficult and sometimes impossible moral choices were given to the characters.  They skirted the edges and sometimes stepped right into inter-species romance.  The first time I ever even heard of the Illuminati was in Gargoyles.  In the middle of all this well fashioned chaos was a very simple concept: "Gargoyles protect".

And it managed to do all that without looking like a TMNT clone.

A bunch of sites stream the episodes if you can't find the dvds.  Not that I'm encouraging pirating or anything....

I love how each of the characters were fleshed out.  I didn't have any character I hated, which usually with any show there's always one or two.  The bad guys were deep and you felt sorry for them, especially Demona.  Xanatos was just kick ass all around and I like how he grows as a person through the series.  I love the humor they had in the episodes, it was subtle and not slap stick, toilet jokes, and crap like that.  One of the moments I always giggle to is Goliath's response to Brooklyn using the word "cool" in Awakening.  It's so freakin' cute :)

Demona was a character I hated for the first few seasons.  Her actions made no sense to me, especially in "Awakening".  It was only when they explained her long and sad history and her connection to Macbeth that you really start to understand that the only thing that drove her anymore was hatred.  She is easily the most tragic character in the show.

Xanatos is like Tony Stark and Lex Luthor rolled into one.  A brilliant, charming and complicated villain.  I liked that he was capable of being a backstabbing bastard but still had a code that prevented him from holding any lasting grudges and compelled him to pay back any kindness given to him or his family.  He couldn't stand to owe someone something.

I recently went to a store, which rhymes with "callbart" and was looking for some Halloween themed movies and or shows that i didn't already have.
So far, i was disapointed, then as i'm going through the dvds in a farther cartoon section i see this epic looking demon guy with the title "Gargoyles the complete 1st season" and right beside it is an equally epic looking cover with 2 demon people but one is a girl while the other is the same titled;
"Gargoyles season 2 volume 1"
I look at both, skim through the back discriptions, and figure "eh what the heck, they're cheap, looks cool, i can always return em', why not"
......38 episodes later i am SO glad i got them. Had NO idea Disney once had balls like this.
Love the series, and love this picture, Brooklyn looks beautiful in it!
So does your o.c.

Yeah, they did an AMAZING job.  The voice acting, the animation, the stories.  It was dark and depressing and angsty when you really think about it.  Their entire race was on the verge of extinction and they were misunderstood.  They were honorable and kind and just.  I love them all <3 <3  Also helps that Keith David is an all time badass!
