Holy fuck, what the hell is this!? The last page was up only two weeks ago, we can't have MORE?! Well, we do!
Did this entirely digitally, so my inking looks a hell of a lot better, I was able to re-arrange things when I drew 'em in the wrong place penciling, and there was not delay as it sat in my binder waiting to be scanned! Huzzah!
And I experimented some with the shading, too! It turned out pretty good! I combined sorta my old, lazy method of picking a color and plopping the shadows in a lower opacity layer over the flat color one, used that technique as a jumping-off point for picking the color I went with, and did from there. I also actually utilized brush and eraser opacity well, for once, which REALLY helped a lot! Who knew putting your eraser at 30% opacity would help you pull up and get such smooth transitions between colors!
I still need a lot of work with coloring and lighting, and actually the next bit, where sunset starts happening, will be a pretty neat crash course for that. I've never every really done anything like a rim light, and my coloring's always been pretty slap-dash. Still, at least I have a fun little comic like this to play around with technique. I get to blow off some steam, and pick up new skills I desperately need at the same time.
And with that, I gotta head off to class afore I'm late!
