Carlos is the son of Jason Lionheart, who was born after the Devroth threat has come to an end. His whole life changed one day when he saw the battle between Varkrion and Malevius, and stumbles upon an ancient gauntlet with immeasurable power. He does not know where it came from. So, by signing a contract with the former hero, Varkrion, Carlos becomes bound by the hero's rules, and sets out to find the other jewels that are the key to salvation, for he is to give the gauntlet to Varkrion before the year ends.
