For those who don't know what nightcore is:
Nightcore is characterized by a sped-up melody (sometimes), fast rhythmic beat (usually), and ALWAYS higher than normal pitch. Almost all nightcore music are original songs nightcored (remixed into nightcore) by nightcore fans. -UrbanDictionary

"The Boulevard of Broken Dreams" I also used the concept as part of level 3 of AlexReynard's concept of Hell,or Afterworld. The purpose of the 3rd level is for denizens to work their way up to level 2, where all is fun.

It was also the title of Kim Deitch's graphic novel of why a cartoonist who drew Waldo the Cat wound up as a hopeless alcoholic & derelict, hallucinating Waldo, and making a nuisance of himself in bars - that is, when the Men in White aren't arriving to take him back to the ward. (Rehab, as usual, failed).
