Well, My Cintiq 13HD arrived for the weekend (Only after 6 weeks and 4 days of waiting)

Is it worth the $1000 price tag?...

Well of course not

Fucked around with it for the last four days trying to get the damn drivers to detect my computer! Every time, Error! I installed and uninstalled those drivers at least 20 times, tried every USB port on my computer, tried my Laptop, tried my buddies Laptop running Windows 8, tried my other buddies Macbook, no luck. Finally after ranting with their teck guy's for 2 hours, and everything failed, I tried nothing different and by chance worked out of the blue...

Will the driver's fail again in the future? Probably.

Back to the art: I sketched this very quickly just for shits'n giggles and to let everyone know that I'm back on track with drawing again^^

Hopefully I can finish some outstanding artwork for others as well as get that Folio out ASAP.

Cheers.

Well it has the same levels of pressure as the last 4 models.... It's an Intous 4 with bluetooth that doesn't work that well (trust me, I know) and a silly touch pad that you would never use because you have a mouse or laptop in front of you.

the gap between Intous 3 and 4 was long, like 3-4 years long, now Wacom has fallen into the Apple boat and releases a new model every year with a few added gimmicks.

Try to find a Intous 4 on eBay, you could save yourself some money and have the exact technology to draw as the latest model

Intuos 4? I was trying to find a good tablet so I don't have to rely on the Pen tool. I know Intuos Manga has some free programs in the bundle... and is $99US

with an active area of only 6 x 3.7 in. That's kind of small in my opinion. All Wacom products come with programs bundled together, unfortunately they are some shitty lesser versions of Photoshop and not the full thing. Software is irrelevant in this day and age with torrents and the works. Unless you run your own small business, no one is going to care if you rip their software for personal use. If you are a student, try looking online as they give discounts for students. Autodesk gives a free three year commercial license to students for ALL of there software.

i always hear issues with the cintiq's and  most other "on screen drawing " tablets  either its outta calibration, or the color is off , or it doesnt work at all , ect ect , never saw the need for one really  ' 3 '  . tho wacoms bamboo's and intuos'sssss'  never  given me any real issues

Wacom makes... decent products, with the worst driver support known to man. It's really unspeakably godawful.

I wouldn't say decent. My Dell Ultrasharp monitor has amazing colour quality and was a fraction of $1000. This Cintiq, just.... just looks like amateur hour. We all try to be professional in this world, but the children then constructed it just don't act by the same rules as you or me^^

Wacom Bamboo never gave me those types of problems. Guess it's the Cintiq and some other ones that have those.
