This was a chao, which for those things of fate, was born without wings and therefore was unable to fly.
While the other chao flew through the forest in search of food, our little friend had to climb the tree branches to reach fruit.
Although the chao are creatures of solidarity, the fact of can't fly prevented our friend could have fun like his brothers. For this reason, the small chao developed a surly personality.
One day, while the chao trying to reach the fruit of a large tree, was caught in the highest branch. But fortunately, was rescued by a young red-eyed echidna, who was also picking fruit.
The echidna took the chao to a lonely house in the woods, where also lived other two echidnas. One was as young as the first but had green eyes, and the other was a beautiful woman of golden spikes.
With safe food and a place to sleep, the little chao decided to stay with his new friends. Later, the chao would be named Chubby, by one of the friends of the group.
Time passed, and although the little Chubby had a very comfortable life, never stop thinking about flying like his brothers. Then, a young echidna of brown spikes felt sorry for him and built him artificial wings, which were attached to a small propeller.
With his new wings, Chubby finally was able to fly, but sometimes he wished could help his friends when they were in trouble. Then, the same girl who gave him the wings, built a device with which he could become a powerful weapon.
Now Chubby is not only a flying chao. Now is the fastest chao of all Mobius.

Este era un chao, que por esas cosas del destino, nació sin alas y por lo tanto era incapaz de volar.
Mientras los otros chao volaban por el bosque en busca de alimento, nuestro pequeño amigo tenía que trepar las ramas de los árboles para poder alcanzar sus frutos.
Aunque los chao son criaturas solidarias, el hecho de no poder volar impedía que nuestro amigo pudiera divertirse igual que sus hermanos. Por esta razón, el pequeño chao desarrolló una personalidad arisca.
Un día, mientras el chao intentaba alcanzar el fruto de un gran árbol, quedó atrapado en la rama más alta. Pero afortunadamente, fue rescatado por un joven equidna de ojos rojos, quién también estaba recolectando frutos.
El equidna se llevó al chao hasta una solitaria casa en medio del bosque, en la cual también vivían otros dos equidnas. Uno era igual de joven pero tenía lo ojos verdes, y el otro era bella mujer de puas doradas.
Con alimento seguro y un lugar para dormir, el pequeño chao decidió quedarse con sus nuevos amigos. Tiempo después, sería bautizado como Chubby, por una de las amigas del grupo.
Pasó el tiempo, y aunque el pequeño Chubby tenía una vida muy cómoda, nunca dejaba de pensar en volar como sus hermanos. Entonces, una joven equidna de púas marrones se compadeció de él y le construyó unas alas artificiales, las cuales estaban unidas a un pequeño propulsor.
Gracias a sus nuevas alas, Chubby ya era capaz de volar, pero a veces deseaba poder ayudar a sus amigos cuando estos estaban en problemas. Entonces, la misma chica que le dió las alas, le construyó un dispositivo, con el cual él podría convertirse en un arma poderosa.
Ahora Chubby no sólo es un chao volador. Ahora es el chao más veloz de todo Mobius.
