Some changes have occurred since the last commission. Prices have gone down and it's not on the commission sheet but I will be having specials (discounts) for special themes, species, etc.
I sometimes feel bad offering "high" prices for my art. I have actually gotten a bit of flack form a few people claiming that I am "taking away some of [the] money they need for their family and other things...." to which my response is if you can't afford to pay for the art due to you being poor and unable to live off the money you earn, then don't even bother commenting and guilt tripping the artist for trying to make their own living.
Right now my art is my JOB. It's what helps me afford the stuff my parents won't let me get. And yes sometimes that is food. But it is insulting when people (especially my friends, one did this once) say my art is not worth what I price it for. That it's low quality and I charge more than I work. My old prices were more than these yes, but that would have been my standard prices. I spend about 6-7 hours one each fully colored picture. When I did calculations for my pricing it, I found that I would have been charging about $5 an hour. That's WAY under the listed "minimum wadge" here in the US. So it was pretty insulting to say that my art, my work was not worthy or what is was.
Sorry for the rant. Sometimes I just feel I need to explain why I price the way I do.
Anyway, I lowered the price because no one was actually buying. XP

Well I've seen one artist with just a bit more quality in their work than yours and charges around 200 or so. That's a bit depressing, but I can see yours going for higher and still be quite fair. Even if you did charge 200 (please don't) it wouldn't be right to guilt trip you about it.

Id only charge 100 if it was a HUGE canvas, painted (with acrylic paints) and sold as an original. You wont believe how much money all the equipment to draw costs. I try to go cheap but one of my commissions could cover the cost of my supplies sometimes.
And then theirs the time put into the artwork. Some people don't seem to understand that you are paying for an artists time and experience.
And anyway. My backgrounds can be pretty shitty, I know that. I need to work on them more to charge more.
