Ok...no...just, no! This is the first time when the ponies are distractive... It's such a nice painting and those ponies look like a mark of some punk who just want to destroy stuff. I'm sorry Shade...that was mean. Take it as an advice not as me being a dork <:) ...when you make something like this, the background and the characters should be made in the same style. Otherwise it creates a contrast (the bad kind) and feels inconsistent. The ponies would be fine without that ink line and more shadow. That way they would become a part of the painting.
In NO way I want to insult you or your work! I'm giving you a friendly advice. ;) Next time I'll just keep my cake-hole shut! XD You're doing the god's work. Keep it up!

No, don't worry, I don't see it as an insult. Unfortunately it's not helpful advice either: what it is is pointing out one (one of many) ways the result fails to accomplish what I wanted to do, and fails to impress. It's often the case though with art critique that even when one grasps the intended art, the technical recommendation (or should've dones) are not applicable or new in any way. As I said, this was a monster, and it completely defied what one is supposed to do with the media I used. The ultimate advice then would be that I shouldn't have done this at all, but I think I prefer learning that the hard way. I'm a stubborn rebel like that.

In these circumstances, making that look good would have been.. a challenge, they would've been two undefined blobs in the sky. Actually, this was already a challenge. I tried to minimize the lines, but heh, if you don't like it you don't like it. It's too bad, but maybe I'll do better next time.

Yeah, it's a canvas. Not mounted on wood though, it's a flat one. The sort you'd have to frame or something, heh, though I doubt that's going to happen!
Aww, thank you! I'm glad you like it! :D Yeah, it's a canvas. Not mounted on wood though, it's a fl
'cause I'm not sure where it'll end up. Probably not in my own castle. We need a special pony art temple to donate this sort of stuff to. ;D ..do you have an indoor gazebo in need of art? :D
