Just thought of trying out making a new race of my own. got inspiration from three popular alien races. The Twi'lek, the asari, and the Navi.

let me start with what qualities of each I've borrowed from.

I borrowed the head tail design from the twi'lek. and that's pretty much it. but mostly did this because I got back into star wars and I like the twi'lek.

I borrowed from the asari. that they're an all female race. though they need a partner for genetic divercity. they don't require one to become pregnant. when fully mature, they're capable of conciously impregnating them selfs to carry a genetic clone of them self. But when they want divercity. they need to entangle their partner with their head tails to pull some of their genetics to their child when they impregnate themselfs. giving their child some of their partner's traits. this doesn't effect the child's species, but some colors and habbits and talents might change as a result.

I also borrowed from the Navi, as mentioned before. their head tails can be used to copy genetic code from the "father" to apply to the child. though the navi don't do this with their own hair tentacles. it is a similar method of using one's head orniments for a perpose higher than just looks. though more like the navi. They're not very advanced. looking more like tribals than a sentiant race. But still fully sentient despite their lack of technology. capable of learning languages and advanced skills.

they're also mostly herbavores. able to articulate their head tails like tentacles to reach up to plants they can't normally reach with their arms. also makes for useful holding lots of plant materials while still freeing up use of their arms. But they also hunt. by being capable of mimicing pheromones. They can use this to attract animals to them while they hunt. making the task of stalking up to the pray animal much simpler. as such. they're not that great of fighters and instead much more peacefull. but they're abilities for making hunting and gathering easier makes them more able to grow for indulgence. having grown large mamary glands for producing large amounts of milk and curvier frames for easier carrying and birthing of children. meaning that if in the event of a low population number, they can impregnate themselfs, and then again almost right after birthing their child. and do so repeatedly. and using pheromones lure and subdue pray when hunting means that mothers have little difficulty nurturing their infants even while pregnant.

being such a peacefull race with little in the way of technology also makes them a target for the slave trade. particularly the sex trade. whole vilages can be plucked from their home planet to be sold into the market as pets. a few get lucky and make a living in real jobs. but many are simply kept for pleasure. Because they self replicate. not many are taken from their home planet as only a few can quickly become many. this also means that buyers might not purchase another as they can replicate themselfs. so sellers quite often only sell one per customer, but at extremely high demanding prices. easily making them one of the most valuable sex pets on the market. not by their rarity. but by their ability to stop buyers from coming back for more.

now onto this pretty lady in the picture. Her name will be Twi-tara. a young adult of her kind. seems to be quite surprised by someone showing up with her all exposed like that.

As for the name of the race it'self. I'm thinking of going with Shungana. I don't know why. just rolled off my tongue when I started thinking about what I want to call them.
