Ravell spun around, teeth flashing in the firelight as he snarled at the woman he had become so obsessed with. Her spirit was tainted, it was no longer the bright light that had drawn him towards her, and he was angry--so angry; at himself, at the demon that had tricked him, and at her for turning her back on him.
“I hate you,” he snarled in an icy voice that was more like a thought in her head. He lowered his body, tensed and poised to spring at her. “You're not who you were--you never will be again, but maybe if I kill you now I can save what's left of who you used to be.”
