So this was the final project for my figure drawing class last quarter. We were to show two (or more, and I count the horse as a character) of our own characters interacting in a space. We were to render the lighting and background (so far the class had, naturally, focused on the figure).
So here we have Lord Smoked Meats and Fishes approaching Sydney and her horse (who someone told me I should name Spot), as she gets him ready for a show. He wants to try and help, but Sydney is really uncomfortable around him, doesn't know whether he's any good with horses, is worried about his feet getting stepped on, and doesn't want her parents to find out he's been living in their barn.
I'm pretty happy with this! It's too light in the digital version, but printed it turned out just right, which was a major relief. Anyway, this was pretty fun, with a few exceptions, and I loved doing Sydney and her (still unnamed) horse! Lord Smoked Meats and Fishes is a blast, too! Less fun was the mad scramble I had to do to get it done on time! Yeah, finals are fuuuuuun...
The horse is an Arabian and Sydney's getting him ready for a Western Pleasure show. I hate Western Pleasure, but I know the culture, and it's where I want her coming from...for all the same reasons I hate it.
