As Mother's Day fast approached, the skunk wondered and worried about what he would get his mother. His wallet was slim and the stores had nothing he thought appropriate. He pondered and looked, looked and pondered, but found nothing.
Then he saw a penguin walking by, its beak firmly clasping a rock with a paper heart tied to it. Penguins know a rock will do as a gift for that special lady in his life.
Moral of the Story: When your mother likes penguins, draw her one.

For Mother's Day 2008, I drew my mother a picture rather than spend money on a store-bought present. Unfortunately, I've either lost or misplaced the original workfiles. This submission is the image I uploaded to my Side 7 gallery back then and is of a better quality than a straight scan.
The penguin came out looking great, but it's apparent I still needed to work on making Justin's tail look natural back then.
